My client is a large scientific company looking for an Intellectual Property assistant/secretary. You will love the relaxed environment and the benefits especially if you’ve worked a law firm. The turnover is low as staff are really rewarded for their efforts.
This is a sensational role for a legal secretary to move into an inhouse role. Based outside of the CBD, you will report to the Senior Corporate Counsel and support two senior staff members. A large part of your role will involve database maintenance. The Senior Counsel is laid back and happy for you to ask questions.
Your day will fly as you ensure that trade mark and patent deadlines are met, you will follow up on correspondence and ensure that the department’s administration is kept up to date.
Some exposure to intellectual property law would be ideal; however a proven background as a legal secretary is a must. You must also have strong dictaphone skills, with 50-60 wpm, advanced MS Word and a proactive, positive disposition. You will have a strong eye for detail and be able to work well under pressure with tight deadlines.
