Blake Dawson – 2007 Names Policy Panel paves the way for a secondary domain name market

Megan Walsh and Caterina Cosentino of Blake Dawson report that the Board of .au Domain Administration Ltd (auDA), the body that administers the .au domain space, has accepted the final recommendations of the 2007 Names Policy Panel. According to Megan Walsh and Caterina Cosentino, the 2007 Names Policy Panel called for a significant change to the .au domain name rules by recommending that a registrant be allowed to transfer their domain name to another eligible party for any reason. The auDA has now approved a plan to implement a new transfers policy.
