DLA Phillips Fox - Getting in touch with our past

The DLA Phillips Fox Technology, Media and Commercial group announces that it has been advising The Generations Network, whose website ancestry.com.au is being promoted in association with the television program, Who Do You Think You Are? According to DLRA Phillips Fox, the Generations Network sought advice on various matters including content acquisition, IP licensing, website compliance, data protection issues and design agreements in relation to its online resources that are designed to assist people in tracing their family heritage.

Ancestry.com.au is one of Australia’s most popular family history websites and enables members to explore their family’s history using Australian and international records including the convict lists, electoral rolls, English, Welsh and Scottish censuses and UK birth, marriage and death records. Ruth Daniels, TGN’s Director of Legal (Europe and Australia) said ” from day one the team have proved to be reliable, responsive and commercial in their advice”. TMC Partner Alec Christie said: “We are proud of our association with The Generations Network. We have applied our expertise in the area of intellectual property and online business to assist our client to help Australians get in touch with their past.”
