Bruce Tonkin is Chief Technology Officer of MelbourneIT and an elected director of the board of ICANN (the international organisation responsible for managing the DNS). As immediate past Chair of ICANN’s Generic Names Supporting Organisation (GNSO), he was closely involved in the development of policy in controversial areas of new generic Top Level Domains (gTLDs) and WHOIS services. Bruce previously directed a research venture at Monash University in partnership with Telstra and Siemans, and coordinated the operations of the Research Data Network Cooperative Research Centre (CRC).
Chris Disspain is CEO of au Domain Administration Ltd (auDA) the self regulatory body that governs the .au domain name space and manages the domain name system in Australia. Under his leadership auDA it has become selffunding, introduced competition into the domain name market in .au, simplified the policy regime and introduced an industry code of practice. Chris is the Chair of ICANN’s Country Code Name
Supporting Organisation, the body that represents the interests of country code top level domain managers. He is also a Director of the Asia Pacific Top Level Domain Organisation and a member of the United Nations Secretary General’s Internet Governance Forum Advisory Group.
Neil Brown has had a distinguished career in Government and the law; and actively involved in politics as a Minister, Shadow Minister, legislator and as a delegate to the United Nations and other international organisations. He is now undertaking a major role in mediation, arbitration, the conduct of inquiries, advocacy, general advice and consulting. Neil is a member of the Panel of Conciliators at the International Centre for the Settlement of Investment Disputes ( ICSID) at Washington, USA and a prominent panelist for the resolution of disputes under ICANN’s Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP).
