Marion Heathcote - Davies Collison Cave

Marion Heathcote’s major area of practice at DCC is in Trade Mark law, specialising in their availability for use and registration, infringement issues and related Trade Practices Act, Copyright Act and associated Common Law Actions. Marion Heathcote has gained extensive experience in strategically advising on international trade mark portfolio management and protection particularly within the Asia Pacific, and regularly presents seminars, locally and abroad, on issues associated with trade mark protection and enforcement. Marion became a partner of Davies Collison Cave in 1998.

Marion Heathcote is named as one of Australia’s leading Trade Mark Law Practitioners in the Managing Intellectual Property’s Expert Guide. In 2008 Marion Heathcote was listed by The Australian Financial Review as one of ‘Australia’s Top Lawyers’ in Intellectual Property as judged by her peers. In addition the 2008 Australasian Legal Business Guide on Intellectual Property Law has described Marion Heathcote as being ‘brilliant in regards to all TPA-related issues’.

Marion Heathcote currently chairs the Indigenous Peoples Rights Subcommittee of the International Trade Mark Association (INTA), and is on the Emerging Issues Council. Marion Heathcote has served on the Board of Directors of INTA and been Vice-President of the Intellectual Property Society of Australia and New Zealand (IPSANZ). Marion Heathcote is currently on the Management Committee of the International Wine Law Association’s Australasian Section. Marion Heathcote also co- authors the Australian Chapter of Lexis Nexis’ International Pharmaceutical Law and Practice.
