Dr Trevor Davies, Partner of Allens Arthur Robinson Patent & Trade Marks Attorneys, is a registered patent attorney in Australia and New Zealand and a registered trade marks attorney in Australia. Dr Trevor Davies specialises in the biotechnology and life science patent areas including biochemistry, microbiology, protein chemistry, molecular biology, genetics, immunology, proteomics, bioinformatics, genetically modified organisms (GMOs), separation and detection of biomolecules, diagnosis and treatment of diseases, allergy testing, pesticides, pharmaceuticals, laundry and bathroom products, water treatment and pollution control, pulping technologies, and food science technology.
Dr Trevor Davies’s services include intellectual property advice, particularly drafting patent specifications and prosecuting patent applications throughout the world, advising on patentability of inventions and carrying out due diligence on existing or pending patent rights. He also advises on strategies for capturing, protecting, commercialising and enforcing intellectual property rights. Dr Trevor Davies has a BSc(Hons) majoring in Microbiology and Biochemistry and a PhD in Microbiology. He was awarded his PhD from the University of Melbourne for bacterial toxin research carried out in the Microbiology Department. After graduation, Trevor was employed as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the Department of Medicine, University of Chicago, USA studying renal cell growth factors. Prior to returning to Australia to train as a patent attorney, Trevor spent several years as a Scientific Researcher at the Urology Clinic, University of Saarland, Germany setting up a protein chemistry research laboratory to study urinary proteins involved in kidney stone disease. Dr Trevor Davies is a Fellow of the Institute of Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys of Australia. He regularly conducts seminars and training on the protection of intellectual property, particularly in the biotechnology and life science areas.
