Miriam Stiel of Allens Arthur Robinson is a commercial litigator, specialising in intellectual property. Miriam Stiel advises on all aspects of intellectual property law and has acted in Court proceedings involving copyright, trade mark, patent and design infringement, breaches of confidential information, misleading and deceptive conduct and passing off. Miriam Stiel has also been involved in proceedings in the Australian Patent and Trade Marks Offices and in international domain name disputes.

Miriam Stiel works with Australian and multi-national corporations from a range of industries, including media and entertainment, luxury goods, sport, technology, telecommunications, manufacturing and financial services, to develop strategies for the protection, commercialisation and enforcement of their IP rights. Miriam Stiel has extensive experience in the area of anti-counterfeiting. She has worked closely with police and prosecuting authorities on criminal investigations and with the Australian Customs Service to prevent the importation of counterfeit goods into Australia. Miriam Stiel has been involved in making submissions to and appearing before government inquiries and meeting with government ministers and officials on intellectual property issues.

Miriam Stiel also has broad commercial litigation experience and has acted in product liability cases, contractual and advertising disputes and Corporations Law matters in Courts throughout Australia. Miriam Stiel has extensive experience running and defending applications for urgent interlocutory relief. Miriam works closely with clients to develop strategies for managing risks, avoiding disputes and handling dispute-related publicity and is experienced in alternative dispute resolution.
