Yahoo!7 and Yahoo! Search Marketing have a rare and exciting opportunity to join our legal team as Corporate Counsel. Yahoo!7 is one of Australia’s favourite online destinations for consumers and advertisers alike. With offices based right on Sydney harbour this role gives you exposure to all aspects of legal issues surrounding the internet and will find you interacting with people across the entire business.
The major focus of this role will be the delivery of legally and commercially effective solutions that assist the business in achieving its objectives. Working closely with the General Counsel you will handle a range of legal work and provide assistance across various aspects of the Yahoo!7 and Yahoo! Search Marketing businesses. Your key responsibilities will include
* Reviewing, drafting and negotiating a range of commercial agreements including technology and content licences, strategic alliances and channel agreements
* Advising the businesses on matters such as IP, trade practices, telecommunications, privacy and other varied issues applicable to the web, mobile and search marketing industries
* Providing commercially focused legal support
Due to the rare availability of this role we are looking for someone outstanding to join our small team. The competition will be tough so in order to be considered you must have 3-4 years PQE in IP, IT commercial and telecommunications. Whilst this is an in-house role, top tier law firm experience will be highly regarded, as will your knowledge of internet, search and mobile business models. You will have exceptional attention to detail with the ability to think meticulously whilst also keeping the big picture in mind. You will have strong drafting skills, demonstrated communication, presentation and influencing abilities and thrive working in a fast-paced environment.
