This role provides legal advice on the negotiation and management of research projects (as well as confidentiality agreements), and the protection of intellectual property that may arise out of such projects. Although not directly responsible for the commercial exploitation of project related intellectual property, this position ensures that the necessary machinery is in place within research contracts to facilitate such exploitation i.e. through the use of licenses and rights of first refusal. You will also be in a position to influence the formation and direction of this new cell, including its legal systems and guidelines.
The successful candidate will have at least 4 years’ post-admission experience in general commercial law. Some exposure to intellectual property would be advantageous yet is by no means a mandatory prerequisite.
