The Australian - Virgin Mobile accused of breach of moral rights
The Australian has reported that Virgin Mobile has been accused for breach of moral rights after it allegedly took images from the Yahoo-owned Flickr website (a popular photo-sharing website) and used them on hundreds of Australian billboard advertisements with provocative captions.
As part of its “Are you with us or what?”, Virgin Mobile featured images from Flickr users with slogans such as: Work Friends Are Just That; Drop you pen Friend; If You Enjoy Your Company Too Much You’ll Go Blind; and Strangers Are Just Serial Killers You Haven’t Met Yet.
However, Virgin Mobile has said that it acted legally and in accordance with the licensing agreements agreed to by Flickr users.
